  - Undertaking foot patrols – following a set route, observation techniques, suspicious packages and individuals
  - Patrol scheduling
  - Patrol hazards and reporting
- Undertake traffic management duties
- General security functions including, but not limited to:
  - Assess and respond to situations of risk
  - Monitor individual and crowd behaviour
  - Operate basic security equipment (including radios, security gates, barriers and bollards and signage)
  - Operate access control systems and manage keys and access swipe cards
  - Protect persons and provide first aid as required
  - Control persons using effective crowd control techniques
  - Manage conflict through negotiation
